Technical demands and ranges of all instruments are minimal. The key is Eb major throughout. It begins with a short fanfare leading in to the principal theme in a broad marcato style. The contrasting theme is a round which serves as an interlude before returning to the main theme. Instrumentation is standard with optional trombone part for horn, and a treble euphonium part for trombone. This is an excellent quintet for developing players emphasizing tone and style. | Bb Trumpet 1 and 2, F Horn (Trombone), Trombone (Euphonium) and Tuba

In 1850, Brahms was introduced to “gypsy-style” music through Hungarian violinist Ede Reményi, including the csárdás “Bártfai emlék” (Memories of Bártfa) by Hungarian composer Béla Kéler, which became the basis for Hungarian Dance No. 5. Arranged for many different instruments and ensembles over the years, this transcription for flute and piano has been completed by well-known American classical flutist Robert Stallman, and it is the first arrangement of the HUNGARIAN DANCES for that instrument in a complete edition. Historical background included in Stallman's notes. Book 1 includes Nos. 1 - 10, which were written between 1858 and 1868. | Flute and Piano

| 12813 | BB488ED8-DF97-4BF5-8199-9A24CF4F4B39 | 20456001 | Triple Treat | Triple Treat was first available for trumpet trio and flute trio. It is now available for clarinet trio, and sax trio. It is scored for 3 alto saxophones with an optional tenor sax part for the 3rd alto. It is a rather challenging piece for all parts and lots of fun to play. After an 8 measure lyrical introduction it moves forward at a moderately fast tempo with lots of staccato 8th notes and slurred 16th notes. Rhythmically is is quite contrapuntal with lots of imitative themes. The musical content is well worth the experience. OMEA Class: C | Saxophone Trio | |
