5821550DAA23-EA5C-40F9-9618-B3693D621860MP509002Suite from Julius Caesar for String Orchestra and Piano (or Harpsichord)This arrangement from Julius Caesar, perhaps the most beautiful of Handel's operas, is the first edition and the publisher's tribute to Handel. Adding two choral movements from Julius Caesar to the pieces chosen, the arranger has put them together into a suite. The original score, which partly included instruments no longer common today, has been simplified for string orchestra and harpsichord (or piano). Thus this festive and gratifying music will be accessible also to small amateur and school orchestras. All notations such as gradations, phrasing, bowing, etc. are made by the editor, Heinz Freudenthal, and are intended to match the style of the 17th century. A third violin part is included as an alternative to the viola. Movements: 1. Overture, 2. Coro I, 3. Sinfonia I, 4. Coro II, 5. Sinfonia II, 6. MarchPiano or Harpsichord and String Orchestra

5823551B8432-4A65-4BE0-90AE-213A9A000B9A50250218Super SleuthSUPER SLEUTH is a funky blues in the key of D minor. There’s lots of call and response action between sections to keep it interesting. The melody and background ideas are presented in variation form before coming back together for the final refrain ending with the “sleuth-i-est” final chord. A drum set part is included to give your performance an extra kick.String Orchestra and Drumset

5825551E9F5A-62D9-4B0C-A2BD-47136F017BE650250187IntermezzoIntermezzo by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was originally published as a piano solo with robust chords and a proud melody. In her string orchestra arrangement, Tai Fraction has created a work which young people will enjoy at a Level 3, as they learn about a well-renowned composer through dramatic dynamics, triplets, slurs, key changes, hooked bows and more. This arrangement provides all instruments interesting parts to play, as they work together in 2- and 3-part writing to replicate the grandeur of Coleridge-Taylor’s original music.String Orchestra

This suite for clarinet quartet just includes three of them - 'The Irish Minstrel Boy,' 'Molly Malone' (sometimes called 'Cockles and Mussels'), and 'The Galway Piper.' Keys are G and C and technical demands are medium. Staccato tonguing and clarity of articulation are necessary in the final movement, and sensitive phrasing and balance in the first two songs. An excellent piece for contest or concert. The 4th clarinet part may also be played by bass clarinet making this also a mixed clarinet quartet. OMEA Class: BClarinet Quartet

Considered by many to be Beethoven's masterpiece, it premiered on May 7, 1824, in Vienna at the Kärntnertortheater, Michael Umlauf and Beethoven co-conducting. With Friedrich Schiller's poem "Ode to Joy" adapted for the final movement, the symphony remains a major part of the repertoire. 5835554ea9ca-9e3c-11f0-a418-0022482c9682W736991Barber of Seville, The (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, complete)The Barber of Seville (Il barbiere di Siviglia) was written by Giocchino Rossini (1792-1868) in 1816. The two-act comic opera is considered one of the greatest opera buffas ever written, and it remains a popular masterpiece staged frequently today, despite its disastrous February 20, 1816, premiere at the Teatro Argentina in Rome. The libretto by Cesare Sterbini is based on a three-part series of French comedic plays under the same name by Pierre Beaumarchais, and other composers also borrowed from the source, including Mozart for his Marriage of Figaro, although that opera was based on the second comedy in the series. Rossini's The Barber of Seville uses the first comedy as its source, showing the exploits that Count Almaviva engages in to convince Rosina to love and marry him before her ward Bartolo marries her first, with the barber Figaro conniving to help Almaviva the entire time. Reprint edition. Vocal score.Vocal Soli (7 roles, SSTBBBB): Mixed Chorus: Keyboard or Orchestra accompaniment

Each section of the strings plays a vital role as rich harmonies, solo passages, pizzicato, bowed-tremolo, and harmonics are all used to make this music really stand out. This is a nice addition to the repertoire and well worth programming for your next concert.String Orchestra
