1669178461AF-5F06-4EB2-BBDF-CD1354CA95F3EBM0610129Star-Spangled Spectacular for OrchestraGeorge M. Cohan had a deep-seated patriotism, as evidenced in such songs as OVER THERE, YANKEE DOODLE BOY, and YOU'RE A GRAND OLD FLAG. His greatest song, OVER THERE, was written in 1917 and was the most stirring song to come out of World War I. It was immensely popular and has become a classic among popular songs. For his patriotic songs, he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Arranger John Cacavas (b. 1930) was chief arranger of the U.S. Army Band and twice won the Freedom Foundation’s George Washington medal for his contributions to American music. He has taken a number of Cohan’s greatest songs and put them into this “Spectacular” arrangement.2.2.2.2: 4.3.3.1: Timp.Perc(2).Pno.Gtr(opt.): Str

16711785FCF2-4F55-4A7D-B61F-A6622F5CEAEESO172CFlowing in the WindFlowing in the Wind inspires imagination and memories about a carefree time or place. The legato bow strokes and intricate harmonies surround the listener with a beauty and sense of well-being. Yukiko Nishimura weaves harmonies in the orchestra within C Major, while placing rests for the musicians as the wind blows throughout the music. Flowing in the Wind expresses a season full of hope and joy through simpler rhythms, minimal time changes, mostly first position (except cello), and some divisi at a Level 3. Students will love the sounds and colors they create as an orchestra, while they practice and perform Flowing in the Wind, a beautiful addition to your library.String Orchestra

16761798AF57-6F3B-40FF-8F1D-CABAE3850238B33412 FantasiesThe "Twelve Fantasies" are a faithful reflection of the "gallant style" of the age. They were written about 1732, during the height of Telemann's career and faithfully depict his movement away from the Baroque into freer forms, giving an improvisatory and somewhat spontaneous feeling to these works. Telemann, as was common of his era, did not suggest many dynamic markings or phrasings. In the edition, editor Robert Cole has added metronome markings, slurs, dynamics, and breath markings as he would employ them in performance.Flute Unaccompanied
