484345B99DB9-3A0A-4F30-8892-002530EE8C0DA345402Petite SuiteOriginally written by Debussy for piano four hands, PETITE SUITE has been transcribed many times, with this orchestral version by Henri Büsser being the most well-known. Perhaps due to a request from pianist-publisher Jacques Durand for a work accessible to skilled amateurs, the work is notable for its simplicity in stark contrast with the modernist works that Debussy was writing at the time. This is a rhythmically charged, dynamic work with beautiful lyric contrasting sections. It is included on many festival lists. The composer has also carefully prepared a band version of his highly successful orchestral work.Concert Band

485545F4E28A-9D1C-4332-BEC4-296E727423B5A128202Concerto for Piano No. 4 in G, Op. 58CONCERTO FOR PIANO NO. 4 IN G Major, Op. 58, composed in 1805-1806, is considered one of the crown jewels of the piano concerto repertoire. Composing it between 1805 and 1806, Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) gave the first performance in a private concert at the palace of Prince Franz Joseph von Lobkowitz. He also played the solo part in the first public performance in the famously cold four-hour concert at the Theater an der Wien on December 22, 1808, in which he also conducted the premieres of his fifth and sixth symphonies. He dedicated the concerto to his student and friend Archduke Rudolph. It suffered from neglect for many years until a series of tours by Felix Mendelssohn created fresh demand for its permanent return to the concert hall.
