The music resonates with the sounds of aging graveyards, some sacred in nature and some scary. Eventually the sounds merge into an aural tapestry, with the distant sounds of colonial fifes and drums. | Concert Band | |

| 14995 | DC91BC12-9672-47E1-9484-94B9F0926109 | EBM0610425 | Rapsodia Argentina | Rapsodia Argentina is based on traditional older Argentinian tangos, the most famous being “Buenos Aires,” which is heard at the outset. The whole piece is a kind of huge rondo and is divided into several sections, most of which recur during the course of the composition. One of them is a milonga, a native peasant dance of Argentina (and Bolivia) that is a variation of the tango. Rapsodia Argentina is probably the least known of the three rapsodias for piano and orchestra by Lecuona. For sale is the solo piano part. It is not a 2-piano version or a piano reduction. The solo part matches the available orchestration as arranged and recorded by Thomas Tirino. | Piano, 2Pi222 4230 Timp 3-4Pc Hp Str | |

| 14997 | DC97A660-0069-471F-8352-FEE3F49C2C66 | A448202 | Scherzo in G minor from the Octet, Op. 20 (composer's orchestration) | SCHERZO IN G MINOR was orchestrated in 1829 as a replacement movement for Felix Mendelssohn’s (1809-1847) SYMPHONY NO. 1 IN C MINOR, Op. 11, which he had originally written at age 15. Dissatisfied with the original Menuetto movement, Mendelssohn substituted the third movement from his OCTET, Op. 20. It is valued both as a standalone concert work and as an illuminating window into his evolving symphonic voice, marking a bridge between Classical form and Romantic expression. It occasionally appears in place of or in addition to the Menuetto in concert hall performances of the symphony. Instrumentation: 2.2.2.2: 2.2.0.0: Timp: Str (9.8.7.6.5 in set). The cheerful outer sections are in four while the lyrical B section is in three. Flutes are featured in the middle section before adding the rest of the band. The recapitulation features the percussion section in alternating measures with the band that builds to a big ending. Very exciting! | Concert Band |
