At the suggestion of his publisher, he arranged two of the waltzes (nos. 1 and 4) for strings the following year. His transcription, which became more recognizable than the original for piano, could be played by a string quartet, string quintet, or a string orchestra. Either of these waltzes would make a superb encore selection or could, together, anchor a shorter program. The set includes a string count of 8-8-5-5-5.String Orchestra (8-8-5-5-5 in set)

It utilizes most of Mayhew Lake’s original scoring but eliminates such instruments as D-flat Piccolo, E-flat Horns, and B-flat Flugelhorns. The works are fascinating examples of Mussorgsky's output and are just the gems to put a little sparkle into a program.Symphonic Band

The works are written to serve as a student primer to the Ferling Studies or other similar studies. Each lyrical study has been crafted to create a balance of musicality and pedagogy that allows students to improve on all aspects of performance. Players are encouraged to choose works that align with their musical goals, not necessarily in the listed order. Each piece is carefully formatted with style-appropriate dynamics, articulations, and tempos, all of which are carefully tailored to the saxophone. These musical studies give saxophonists the opportunity to experience compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Ernesto Köhler, Carl Maria von Weber, and many more.Saxophone

Beginning with a two bar repeated pattern for congas, the composer adds layers of additional percussion to establish the rhythmic groove. Simple syncopations and interesting melodic lines make everyone's part fun and interesting. Everything you need for teaching sectional independence is contained in this light and carefree work, which is ideal for introducing African music to your band student.Concert Band
