Affiliating herself with nationalist composers such as Saint-Saëns and Gounod, her style was very much rooted in both Romantic and French tradition. Her tuneful and highly accessible works were also tremendous favorites in the United States. Chaminade's Album of Songs was originally published between 1892 and 1893 and included thirty-seven total songs across two volumes, with versions for both high voice and low voice made available. LudwigMasters has made all thirty-seven songs available, with three books for each volume, totaling six books each for both high and low voices. Included in Volume 1, Book 2: Rêve d'un soir (W278, 1890); Tu me dirais (W282, 1891); Chanson slave (W262, 1880); Auprès de ma mie (W268, 1888); Nice-la-belle (W273, 1889); Fleur jetée (W275, 1889). L'été (W303, 1894) was originally included in this collection, but was later replaced with Nice-la-belle. L'été is available separately from the publisher (60852004). | Low Voice and Piano | |
| 11145 | A2453E1C-591F-445A-AABA-27092B9F7FBE | 52250913 | Rag Doll | This easy, two-beat swing feel piece for beginning string orchestras is sure to please with its lilting phrases in the violins and interplay between the viola/cello and violin melody. Each section gets a chance to work both bowed and pizzicato passages and play melody, counter-melody, and accompanying passages - with included violin 3 part for reinforcement for beginning violists. Another great and enjoyable piece from Thom Sharp! | String Orchestra | |

| 11149 | A2501FB6-F6A0-44A6-9AF1-59DC8D1536BD | 60404001 | Wind Quintet, Op. 26 | "The QUINTET FOR WIND INSTRUMENTS (BLÄSERQUINTETT) was completed in August 1924, and played for the first time on September 16, 1924. It is the first large work in which Schönberg has substantiated the laws of composition with twelve tones. All themes and sound combinations are derived from the basic series (E-flat, G, A, B, C-sharp, C, B-flat, D, E, F-sharp, A-flat, F) and a number of subsidiary series (inversion, "crab" or retrograde motion, etc.). The homogeneity and uniformity thus achieved constitutes an equivalent to the form-building functions of a fixed tonality." - Program Note from the score. This early example of Schönberg's twelve-tone technique premiered on September 13, 1924, the composer's birthday. Reprint edition. | Woodwind Quintet: Flute (d. | 11151 | A257E1E3-B341-4045-906F-4EA5905B996E | A588602 | Symphonic Variations in E minor | Charles Hubert Hastings Parry (1848-1918) composed the Symphonic Variations in E minor only two years prior to the completion of the Enigma Variations by his well-known student, Edward Elgar. It premiered on June 3, 1897, with Parry himself conducting the Philharmonic in London. While Parry and other composers from his era fell out of favor in the cultural shift that followed World War I, his Symphonic Variations remained the primary orchestral work, along with a few of his popular choral compositions, still occasionally found on concert programs. While Parry enjoyed a revival of his larger catalog in the latter part of the 20th century, Symphonic Variations remains his most popular instrumental work. The orchestral tour-de-force includes 27 variations on an original theme in a single movement.
