In 1838, he composed 30 movements in total, but eventually eliminated all but thirteen for his KINDERSZENEN (SCENES FROM CHILDHOOD), Op. 15. Schumann originally called it LEICHTE STÜCKE (EASY PIECES). He later added descriptive titles to equip the performer with suggestions for interpretation. This edition has been orchestrated by Israeli conductor and composer, Yoav Talmi for chamber orchestra. A version for large orchestra by Talmi is also available from the publisher. Movements: 1. Of Strange Lands and People (Von fremden Ländern und Menschen); 2. Curious Story (Kuriose Geschichte); 3. Blindman's Buff (Hasche-Mann); 4. Pleading Child (Bittendes Kind); 5. Perfectly Contented (Glückes genug); 6. Important Event (Wichtige Begebenheit); 7. Reverie (Träumerei); 8. By the Fireside (Am Kamin); 9. The Knight of the Rocking-horse (Ritter vom Steckenpferd); 10. Almost Too Serious (Fast zu Ernst); 11. Frightening (Fürchtenmachen); 12. A Child Falling Asleep (Kind im Einschlummern); 13. The Poet Speaks (Der Dichter spricht); 14. Epilog: Important Event (Wichtige Begebenheit).
