91458611D218-1F73-4FC5-941F-4D2C55CC0947R119St. Anne's FugueAnother great organ masterpiece expertly arranged. This work is really three fugues, succeeding each other without pause. The first is flowing and noble, requiring blend and beauty of tone and smooth legato style. The second has an undulating, rhythmically active theme requiring excellent technical fluency, rhythmic control, and precision. The final fugue is marked and articulated, which demands clean, fluent tonguing, and rhythmic evenness as well as richness and beauty of tone in the resonant, climactic passages.Band

At that time, 12 concerti grossi - namely 8 church concerti (concerti da chiesa) and 4 chamber concerti (concerti da camera) were published posthumously in 1714 under opus number 6, having been commissioned by Cardinal Pietro Ottoboni. Likely composed sometime around 1690, the concerto is scored for an ensemble of two concertino violins and a cello, plus the ripieno strings and continuo. The harpsichord or organ continuo was realized by Waldemar Woehl. Instrumentation: Str (2-2-2-1-1 in set): Vn(2) concertante: Vc concertante: Hpchd in set. 9153863BA34D-1D70-4D3D-A04B-39C7F0CA9949MR00501The Great Nebula in Orion: A Chamber MusicalTHE GREAT NEBULA IN ORION is as much a piece of musical theater as it is an extended art song for two singing actors with accompaniment. Louise and Carrie, friends since their student days at Bryn Mawr, meet by chance after not having seen or spoken with one another in nearly seven years. They spend the afternoon at Louise’s apartment reminiscing about the past and telling clever stories of their contented and, finally and truthfully, their discontented lives. The women in The Great Nebula in Orion attempt (not always successfully) to sing emotions and sentiments that are important to them. The musical becomes as much a piece about trying to (or learning how to) "sing" as it is about a reunion of two old friends.Sop & Mz-Sop Soloists and Piano
