| 15474 | E35DBF70-D68D-4FD7-9562-AE9D796A74DE | B358902 | Pavane | Originally written in 1899 by Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) for solo piano, and later orchestrated by the composer, PAVANE POUR UNE INFANTE DÉFUNTE (PAVANE FOR A DEAD PRINCESS) remains one of the enduringly popular of Ravel's works, though the title can be a curiosity for many. Ravel said of the work, "Do not attach any importance to the title. I chose it only for its euphonious qualities. Do not dramatize it. It is not a funeral lament for a dead child, but rather an evocation of the pavane [a stately, 16th-century Spanish court dance] which could have been danced by such a little princess as painted by Velázquez." This arrangement for concert band has been completed by Lawrence Fogelberg. | Concert Band | |

| 15478 | E36F6976-EB91-4371-8E03-1CE6CA6E2FA3 | S112006 | Concerto No. 1 in G Major for Flute, K. 313 (with Flute 2 part) | The concerti by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart K 313 in G Major and K 314 in D Major represent two of the most important pieces for the flute. These Carol Wincenc publcations help students in their learning and preparation of these great works by utilizing a second flute part, an effective practice introduced by her teacher Marcel Moyse. The second part serves as a useful tool in lessons at which no pianist is present to accompany the soloist and reveals to the student musical subtleties and concepts which would otherwise not have been possible to impart. The arrangements have been carefully written to be playable on historical as well as modern flutes, and include Ms. Wincenc's own cadenzas that have been brilliantly honed by years of professional concertizing. | Flute solo with flute 2 accompaniment | |
