| 10907 | 9ED045B2-C773-4FD6-BFB7-CDF51645F2DA | A774590 | Sinfonia No. 5: String Symphony in B flat | This is the fifth among thirteen string symphonies written between 1821 and 1823, when Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) was twelve to fourteen years old. Like the other twelve, it was written as a tribute to early Classical symphonies by composers such as Haydn, J.C. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, and Mozart, a feature much more obvious in the first six as they were more imitative. The second grouping, starting with Sinfonia No. 7, show more of the composer's emerging personal style. Mendelssohn composed most of the thirteen works in three movements, and his fifth string symphony, completed only ten days after the fourth, is no exception. The set includes a string count of 8-8-5-5-5. | String Orchestra (8-8-5-5-5 in set) | |
| 10908 | 9ED26389-3F96-44E4-8DF8-259F2BDA0DD5 | 10460192 | Gypsy Love Song | GYPSY LOVE SONG (Slumber On, My Little Gypsy Sweetheart) was written by Victor Herbert (1859-1924) in 1898 for his three-act operetta, THE FORTUNE TELLER, a story of attempted force marriage, many romantic relationships, and mistaken identities, all of which end happily. The tranquil and melodic song has been arranged in multiple ways (all with piano accompaniment) by Floyd O. Harris, all of which are available from the publisher: Alto Saxophone solo, duo, and trio (3rd Alto Saxophone also includes a Tenor Saxophone substitute); Tenor Saxophone solo; Cornet/Trumpet solo, duo, and trio; Trombone/Euphonium/Baritone B.C. solo, duo, and trio. These arrangements are wonderful for developing students looking for a lyrical piece to take to contest or recital. | Tenor Saxophone and Piano | |

| 10913 | 9EEAF4C4-108B-4F9A-84FF-0BE56E7DDD49 | A453902 | Trilogue (Scherzo for Solo Double Bass and Two Mallet Percussion) | This scherzo composed by Alfred for solo Double Bass, Vibraphone, and Marimba was commissioned by the Frederick Zimmermann Memorial Fund for Lucas Drew, Principal Double Bass of the Miami Philharmonic Orchestra, and Professor of Double Bass at the School of Music of the University of Miami. The work is conceived so as to be playable both by the traditional acoustic Bass and the Electric Bass. The title implies all three instruments sharing in the musical "dialogue" on an equal basis, and since there are three participants rather than two, the derivation of the title is obvious. | Double Bass, Vibraphone, Marimba | |

| 10916 | 9EF30843-87DB-4A4B-9CB3-EF5106CA0BC9 | SO186C | Astral | Where does the magic found in fantasy worlds come from? This power comes from among the stars; the astral plane. Written to represent mystical powers that are present in so many stories, this piece hopes to take you on a journey to the many battles fought between light and darkness using magic. It is a pastorale héroïque, a form of the opéra-ballet genre of French Baroque opera that draws subject material from pastoral poetry. Zaïs tells the story of the genie Zaïs, who disguises himself as a shepherd to win the love of Zélide, a shepherdess. After proving he is willing to give up his magic powers for his love, Oromases, the king of genies, grants the couple immortality so that they might marry. Zaïs is especially known for its spectacular and dramatic overture, which depicts the Palace of Oromases and his throne made from the four elements.
