61855A10300B-CCB5-4D4A-9E2D-ABED9033CF3E10530192Gypsy Love SongGYPSY LOVE SONG (Slumber On, My Little Gypsy Sweetheart) was written by Victor Herbert (1859-1924) in 1898 for his three-act operetta, THE FORTUNE TELLER, a story of attempted force marriage, many romantic relationships, and mistaken identities, all of which end happily. The tranquil and melodic song has been arranged in multiple ways (all with piano accompaniment) by Floyd O. Harris, all of which are available from the publisher: Alto Saxophone solo, duo, and trio (3rd Alto Saxophone also includes a Tenor Saxophone substitute); Tenor Saxophone solo; Cornet/Trumpet solo, duo, and trio; Trombone/Euphonium/Baritone B.C. solo, duo, and trio. These arrangements are wonderful for developing students looking for a lyrical piece to take to contest or recital.Trombone/Euphonium/Baritone B.C. Solo and Piano

61875a15a8bd-9e39-11f0-a418-0022482c968250300001The Downfall of Paris: Swing Variations for Snare DrumTHE DOWNFALL OF PARIS is derived from an English tune dating back to the late 1700s, and became popular among European military bands in the 1800s. It became a standard of the American fife and drum repertoire thanks in part to its inclusion in George B. Bruce and Daniel D. Emmett’s THE DRUMMER'S AND FIFER'S GUIDE (1862). The snare drum accompaniment to this popular melody has been a standard piece of the rudimental snare drum literature for well over a century. What sets these new Wilcoxon variations apart is that their existence has been unknown until now. They come from thirty years later in his career than his other most popular works, and they perfectly demonstrate Wilcoxon’s ability to employ rudimental vocabulary to make distinct but compelling music with the same source material.Snare Drum

61975A2AAEF7-2F87-4978-A6B4-CE2C26A2302F52250569Train to GloryTake an exciting ride on the underground railroad with these three traditional spirituals about trains: The Gospel Train's a-Comin'; Get on Board and This Train. Everyone has a chance to play the melody while getting a rhythmic workout in G major. Cellists venture into second position; upper strings stay in first. The dissonant double stops at the beginning of the medley sound like a real train whistle, and the rhythmic train-like figures between tunes keep the forward momentum going all the way! Highly recommended!String Orchestra
61985A3056EC-144C-4D9E-943A-218A23FA86B6A128102Concerto for Piano No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) completed his Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor in 1803, not long after writing the famous letter to his brothers, the Heiligenstadt Testament, in which he lamented his increasing deafness. He gave the first performance of the piece, as soloist, on April 5 in a public benefit concert at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna. The opening melody in the first movement bears striking similarity to the first theme heard in Mozart's 24th piano concerto. As a whole, the piece provides an essential link between the Mozartean charm of the two earlier concertos and the more idiosyncratic work found in his "middle" period.
