| Short Bio | Owen Goldsmith lost his life in the Butte Fire on September 16, 2015. Born on October 8, 1932 in Borger, Texas, he was preceded in death by his three older siblings - Mavis, Mildred, and Arlen. Owen graduated from Oakdale High School and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Owen taught music and chorus at Livermore High School. After an early retirement, he became a well-published composer. The family requests that any donations be made to the Central Calaveras Fire Protection District to support the local firefighters who lost their own homes in trying to save others. -Oakdale Leader obituary |
