| Marketing Copy | This is a set of three Miniatures in contrasting mood and style. The Air is melodic with interesting harmony and moving inner parts. The Minuet is in the style of that typical 18th century dance, and the closing piece is in the style of an Irish Jig. This same piece has been published for some time as a Saxophone Quartet under the title of Three Miniatures, and has been quite frequently performed in Ohio contests. It is now available as a flute quartet and as a clarinet quartet under that same title. To avoid confusion, the title has been changed for this clarinet choir edition, and the instrumentation has been broadened to include 4 Bb soprano clarinets and bass Clarinet, with optional parts for alto, contra-alto and contra-bass clarinets.A very satisfying performance can be achieved with careful rehearsal of the notes, rhythms, style and dynamics. It is one of those piece that sounds more difficult than it really is! |
