Written especially for wonderful soprano Angel Blue after Bruce Adolphe had discovered she had been frequently already performing some of his other works (including "Valley Girl in Love" from his song cycle A Thousand Years of Love), Angel gave the world premiere on May 15, 2021 with Bryan Wagorn on piano in a concert offered by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
