| Marketing Copy | New Orleans-born composer and pianist Louis Moreau Gottschalk's (1829-1869) Grand Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 67, was published in Paris after the composer's sudden death in Brazil in 1869. While no score for this 'moto perpetuo' work was found, the instrumentation used for this arrangement is based on parts located for the original orchestration. The piano part is the original composer's edition, while the band arrangement takes full advantage of the many colors of the concert band. The arrangement is well within the technical limits of good concert bands, so little rehearsal time with the soloist will be required. |
