The premiere was given on May 2, 1999 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ. Wind Set is in two movements. The first movement is in two sections—the first, somewhat lyrical and the second, more rhythmical. The second movement juxtaposes lyrical sections with virtuosic ones.
