Program NotesFantasy on Adeste Fidelis is based on the centuries-old Christmas carol, “O Come All Ye Faithful.” The carol’s hearty tune and persuasive spirit have inspired countless generations with its great message of hope. Composer David Ott takes four views of this carol; first, as a fanfare, representing the annunciation, then as a mysterious setting, as in the Magnus Mysterium, followed by a dance of celebration and concluding as a processional for a new king.
