| Program Notes | For centuries bells have rung out the joyous proclamation of the holiday season. In that same spirit, the percussion section begins a joyful celebration by the whole orchestra. Leading with tubular bells, then glockenspiel and xylophone, soon the strings join the festivities. Eventually the entire orchestra rings out a tumultuous setting of upbeat buoyancy. After reaching an exuberant celebration, a fugato is introduced giving weight to the entire work, all coming to a grand conclusion. |
