| Marketing Copy | Originally written by Modest Mussorgsky (1839-1881) for piano and orchestra, Night on Bald Mountain (alternatively Night on the Bare Mountain) was long left neglected by the composer. Having several musical iterations in existence, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908), whose orchestration brought the piece out of obscurity, initially struggled with which of Mussorgsky's versions to use. Already a popular piece in Rimsky-Korsakov's day, its use in Disney's Fantasia cemented its place in the popular consciousness.
