Although later in his career he was traded around to Cleveland, New York and Los Angeles, Jimmy Piersall's primary team was the Boston Red Sox (1950-58), the team that was (is) also THE lifelong team for the director of this consortium, New England-native Gary Shaw. FSO was commissioned by Gary Shaw and a consortium of 20 American trombonists and wind ensembles.
