| Marketing Copy | Antonio Tenaglia (c.1616-1661) was a well-known composer and keyboardist during the Baroque era. Very little of his music has survived the ravages of time, however, among his output are many beautiful melodies, including this aria from one of his 67 cantatas. Written in ABA form, it starts in G minor and moves to G major before returning to the original key. The limited divisi in the second violins adds body to the ensemble. Gerald Doan's artistic arrangement is a worthwhile addition to the string orchestra repertoire. |
