The first recorded appearance is in Three New Christmas Carols around 1760. The traditional melody in the minor mode and first appeared in print in Facetia (1829) by William Hone. This highly original adaptation will make a welcome and unique addition to the holiday program. The keys of G and D are string friendly and there are no severe technical issues to confront.
