He was one of the founding professors of the Royal College of Music where he taught composition. Among his pupils were Gustav Holst and Ralph Vaughan Williams. SIX SHORT PRELUDES AND POSTLUDES, Op. 101 is the first of two sets. This set includes six songs influenced by Stanfords’ Irish background. Set 2 is also available from the publisher. Reprint edition.
