Marketing CopyLouis Spohr is a lesser known German composer who lived at he same time as Beethoven. He was an outstanding violinist and is remembered mostly for his violin music, but also tried his hand at opera. The first song in this set of two pieces, “Proudly As The Eagle”, is a song of joy from one of his operas. It is followed by a college song, “Vive L’amour” which applauds the value of friendship. This ensemble was first very successfully arranged for trombone quartet, and now has been transcribed for trumpets. Range is not demanding with the first trumpet not above high G. Dynamics, style, articulation and phrasing have all been carefully marked to aid in the preparation of a successful performance.
