| Title Name | Artist Quadrille, Op. 201 |
| Marketing Copy | This new adaptation of the original work has a full orchestral score with two optional added trombones to fill out the full body of the orchestral sound. Some careful editing has been done to simplify certain technical challenges, but the original character is maintained. The quadrille was a lively, stylized dance for four couples, arranged in a square. The dance developed from military parades in which four horsemen performed square-shaped formations or figures. The performances became quite popular, prompting people to perform quadrilles without horses. While Strauss was known as 'The Waltz King,' he wrote music for dances in all of the currently popular forms, including the quadrille. |
