Marketing CopyErnst von Dohnányi (1877-1960), composer, pianist and conductor, left his native Hungary after World War II. From 1949 until his death, he was Professor of Piano and Composition at Florida State University in Tallahassee. The SERENADE, Opus 10, for Violin, Viola and Violoncello follows the precedent of the classical serenade and cassation which begins and ends with a march. The work is witty, romantic and dramatic. Reprint edition of both the score and parts. A transcription for string orchestra (A414502) by bassist Lucas Drew is also available in the Edwin F. Kalmus catalog.
