Marketing CopyJohann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) composed his CANTATA NN. 29: WIR DANKEN DIR, GOTT, WIR DANKEN DIR (WE THANK YOU, GOD, WE THANK YOU), BWV 29 for the installation of the new Leipzig town council in 1731. It was first performed as part of the celebratory service in the Nikolaikirche on August 27.
