This overture is typical of the French style, and the concert element is also not completely missing in it. The fact that such a merry movement as Les Plaisirs is in a minor key proves that Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767), like Handel, did not always use the major and minor key in the sense of happiness and sadness for characterization.
