In three movements: Incanto, Rapido, Seducente. A mystical, magical evolution of material evolves from opening fragments, thru a breathtaking, pulsing middle section, into a final theatrical movement at the end of the work. All players curiously end up around the piano (in a private-world chamber setting) as an off-stage soprano wanders on stage and summons the final measures in pseudo-Puccini tenderness.
